Would you like help or advice about claiming Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit? Whether you need help with your first claim or with a review form, a visiting officer can help you.

We can visit you in your own home.

Our visiting officers can work out your Housing Benefit or Council Tax benefit (or both) and offer advice on other State Benefits such as Pension Credit, Working Tax Credit, Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance.

How do I request a home visit?

Claiming benefit that you are entitled to is your right. However,we are aware that some elderly members of our community feel embarrassed asking for help, or have difficulty filling in forms. We are here to help you get the benefits that you are entitled to.

Do you live in Harpenden?

Did you know that if you would like to make a claim for benefit, or have to provide original documents to support a claim, you can take them to Harpenden Town Council (Mon - Fri 10am - 4pm). They will photocopy your documents for you and send them to the Benefits Section at St Albans District Council.
