Advice and support

  • St Albans City and District Council provides advice and assistance on a range of issues including homelessness and housing for people on low incomes.
  • Directgov explains what you should do if you can’t meet your mortgage payments and has information on the financial support that is available.
  • Community Legal Advice is a service that provides free legal advice on housing problems, among other issues.

Homelessness

  • Shelter is a housing and homelessness charity that provides advice on housing issues, including homelessness and dealing with mortgage and rent arrears.
