Definition of discrimination

The act of denying rights, benefits, justice, equitable treatment, or access to services available to all others, to an individual or group of people because of their age, gender, disability, race, religion or belief or sexual orientation.

There are six equality strands support by relevent legislation and regulations, these are:

• Age
• Disability
• Gender
• Race
• Religion or belief
• Sexual Orientation
