 Santa and stars

A Christmas market, mini fairground and the Sight ‘n’ Sound Roadshow were among the attractions for families. On the stage St Albans singing sensation Leigh Casling showed off his talent with songs from the “Rat Pack” with children from Wheatfield and Skyswood schools, who put on their dancing shoes for the audience.

Saturday morning radio show host “Kez” from Herts Mercury 96.6FM was also on hand to welcome Father Christmas, there was also a chance to meet some of the stars of this years “Jack and the Beanstalk” pantomime at the Alban Arena, and see the Salvation Army band, the St Albans Majorettes, the Abbey Singers, Sandringham School Jazz band and much more.

The Christmas lights were officially switched on at 5:30pm by the Mayor of St Albans with the help of many of the afternoon’s performers.
