St Albans City and District Council is pleased to be supporting The Big Lunch – a bring-your-own, open-air party, being held across the nation on Sunday 18th July.
You can visit the Big Lunch website by clicking on the link in the External Links panel on the right. This website will tell you all about the Big Lunch, why it’s being organised, who is behind it, how to plan your own Big Lunch, and a fantastic map showing you where local parties are being held – so you may be able to join in one that’s already planned if you don’t have time to plan your own.
Whether it’s a street party with the neighbours, a community party on your local green, a knees up in your garden, or a BBQ at the park, why not join the thousands of your fellow countrymen and women expected to join in the celebrations.
At the bottom of this page, you can download information about arranging for a road to be closed, including an application form for road closure. This document also includes some useful information to consider relating to alcohol consumption and insurance. You can also check out any planned roadworks in your area by checking the Elgin Roadworks Information Service (see links on the right).
Please email your Big Lunch photos to claire.wainwright@stalbans.gov.uk so we can put them up on the website. Please include details of where your Big Lunch was held, who was involved, why you decided to participate, and how it went.
We hope you enjoy your Big Lunch!
