You have until 5pm on Monday 19 December to nominate your local heroes for the Mayor’s Pride Awards.

The Mayor Cllr Aislinn Lee commented: “We have been delighted by the response so far, but there is still a chance to nominate a group or a person for any of the categories below.  We have some wonderful people in our district who go out of their way for the benefit of others, so please nominate someone whom you think deserves recognition.”

Organised and delivered by St Albans City and District Council, in association with the Herts Advertiser and St Albans District Centre for Voluntary Service (CVS), The Mayor’s Pride Awards will honour and celebrate local people who have gone the extra mile for others or shown immense strength in the face of adversity. The initiative is an opportunity to extol the virtues of individuals, the unsung heroes and volunteers who would never seek praise for themselves, and also to commend achievements and examples set by local groups and organisations across the district.

Community Project Officer, Ricky Manning said: “We are keen to get lots of people involved in nominating their local heroes.”
