News release: 19 June 2012

Parking restrictions in Bluehouse Hill, St Albans will be enforced by St Albans City and District Council from Monday 2 July.

The restrictions prevent stopping or parking on the pavement or grass verge along the entire length of the road.

The parking restrictions signs were uncovered on 19 April. Leaflets have since been distributed to motorists parking in this area warning them that the restrictions will be enforced in the near future.

Warnings will continue to be issued until after 2 July after which penalty notices of £70 may be issued to any vehicle parking in this restricted area.

Cllr Beric Read, Portfolio Holder for Community Engagement and Localism at St Albans City and District Council, said: “The parking restrictions in Bluehouse Hill will help prevent unsightly damage to grass verges and accidents on what is a busy road.”

Car parking is available near-by at Verulamium car park in St Michael’s Street and at Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre, off Holywell Hill. Details of car parks in St Albans are on the Council’s website.
