St Albans City & District Council has made further representations to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government on the Park Street Rail Freight Interchange planning Appeal by Helioslough Ltd.

The Secretary of State has delayed a decision on whether or not to grant planning permission for a rail freight interchange on land in and around the Radlett aerodrome site in Park Street to allow him to consider the relevance of the recently published National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).  The Secretary of State invited the parties to comment in a letter dated 29 March 2012.

The Council has now responded to the Secretary of State’s invitation to comment on the NPPF in a letter dated 16 April 2012.

The Secretary of State has indicated that he will issue his decision on the Appeal on or before 13 June 2012.
