Local advice centre
The St Albans advice and information centre offers a range of services from local providers, all from one location at the Civic Centre. Advice, guidance and information are currently provided by Oaklands College, the Citizens Advice Bureau, the Credit Union, the District Council and the Volunteer Centre.

St Albans City and District Council’s Cabinet will review the advice and information centre and consider recommendations for its future on Thursday 19 July.

Cabinet will review an evaluation report on whether the centre is proving helpful to its users and whether the service providers are satisfied with it. Cabinet will also consider proposals for the next stage of the project.

Councillor Julian Daly, Executive Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Resources, said: “Working with key public service organisations to offer services from one location means that people can often get the help and information they need quicker.  At our meeting we will be looking at how effective the combined local services centre is, and how we can develop the service.”

The Cabinet meeting on Thursday 19 July is open to the public. The meeting takes place in the Council Chamber, beginning at 7pm. You can also watch it via webcam either live or after the meeting.

The agenda for the meeting is available on the Council’s website.
