Mayor attends St Albans Councils Housing Open Day
Council tenants and leaseholders finding out about housing services at the Housing Open Day on 13 October were joined by the Mayor of St Albans City and District.

The Mayor, Cllr Eileen Harris, came along to meet council tenants, leaseholders, contractors and members of the Council’s housing services team.

The open day was organised by St Albans City and District Council to help tenants and leaseholders access information about housing maintenance, benefits and other services.

Cllr Eileen Harris, Mayor of St Albans City and District, said: “It was very helpful to have representatives from many different services all in one place to answer people’s questions about housing. I was glad that over 100 tenants and leaseholders were able to attend and talk to staff in an informal setting.”

Representatives from the following organisations were also on hand to offer advice at the Open Day:
  • St Albans District Credit Union
  • Citizens Advice Bureau
  • Lea Valley Homes (Hertfordshire’s homebuy agents)
  • John O’Conner, the Council’s contractor for ground maintenance
  • Kyle Smart & Associates, the architects for Caroline Sharpe House
  • North Herts Homes
Children who came to the Open Day with their parents took part in a range of activities including face painting, games, a lucky dip and a ‘Design a Poster’ competition.
