The re-development of four London Colney garage sites and near-by land to create approximately 30 houses and 50 new parking spaces is being considered by Cabinet on Thursday, 16 February.

The move follows consultation with the London Colney Parish Council and two public meetings held on Wednesday, 1 and Saturday, 4 February last week. One of the options is to transfer the sites to a housing association for their redevelopment as additional affordable housing.
Cabinet will also hear a full update on the work of the St Albans City and District Council’s Garages Working Party. The Working Party has been looking at how to make better use of other under-utilised council-owned garage sites in the District.
Councillor Brian Ellis, Chair of the Garages Working Party and Portfolio Holder for Housing at St Albans City and District Council, said: “The Working Party has been looking at whether some council-owned garage sites can be used for affordable housing and others improved to increase occupancy, by, for example, increasing security.”
Members of the public can attend the meeting on Thursday, 16 February which will take place at 7pm at the Council’s offices at the Civic Centre, St Peter's Street, St Albans or watch the meeting online via the Council’s website.
The agenda for the meeting will be published shortly on the Council’s website.
