If you are organising an event in the District, you can now borrow special recycling bins from St Albans City & District Council.

The Council has some recycling bins designed to be used at public events to encourage people to recycle their cans and plastic bottles on the go. Look out for the big green flags!

Anyone wishing to borrow recycling bins for an event can do so by contacting Louise Palmer, Recycling Officer on 01727 819428.

Cllr Daniel Chichester-Miles, Portfolio Holder for Environment at the Council said:  “Only 24% of plastics are recycled in the UK and almost half of all litter is plastic bottles. The council is keen to help organisers of public events to recycle as much as possible.  Just let us know, and we can arrange for you to borrow our special bins.”
