Applications for membership of the Independent Remuneration Panel on Members' Allowances

The term of office of the current members of the Independent Remuneration Panel will end on 23 September 2012.  At a recent Council meeting it was decided that three people will be required for membership of the Panel for a four year term of office beginning on 24 September. We are inviting applications from people living or working in St Albans District to become members of its Independent Remuneration Panel.  The Panel makes recommendations to the Council on the level of allowances to be paid to its 58 elected Councillors and co-opted members.  The Council must have regard to those recommendations when reviewing or amending its scheme.  The Panel must comprise three, independent, impartial people with no connection to the Council.  Further details are included in the Person Specification below. If you would be interested in applying to be a member of the Panel please download a copy of the application form below. Completed application forms should be sent to: Mike Lovelady, Head of Legal, Democratic and Regulatory Services, St Albans District Council, Civic Centre, St Peter's Street, St Albans, AL1 3JE by noon on 15 June 2012.
