Disabled Car Parking?
Reserved disabled car parking spaces are available next to the scheme's office in Drovers Way car park. A disabled "radar" toilet is nearby.
On the first visit customers will be asked for two items of identification (eg Driving licence, benefit book showing your name and address, medical card etc) to register with the scheme for insurance purposes. You will be given a registration card and number to use when you come along to borrow the equipment. A member of the staff will demonstrate the use of the equipment and when the customer is confident in its use they will be free to use the vehicles to visit anywhere in the town centre. At the end of the visit, you simply return the scooter or wheelchair to the Shopmobility office. Scooters can be borrowed for the duration of the day and wheelchairs can be borrowed for up to 4 weeks.
