If you do not live in the St.Albans or Harpenden area there are other opportunities for guided walks. Please call 01992 555262 and ask for a copy of Walks and More, a calendar of events in Hertfordshire which includes both short and longer walks led by knowledgeable people.
Enjoying Health Walks
To ensure that you make the most of your walk please take note of the following:
For your own safety you should follow the leader's instructions at all times.
Leaders will be at the meeting point whatever the weather, but may cancel the walk if conditions are hazardous.
Please wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes.
Depending on the weather you may also wish to bring waterproofs or a sun hat.
Carry a drink.
The first time you attend a walk you will be asked to complete a simple 'ready to exercise?' form. The information you give is completely confidential within the scheme but necessary to ensure your safety. You may be asked to see your doctor; he/she should be aware of the healthy walking scheme and able to advise you of the best walk.
