Welcome to Homewood Road United Reformed Church,
|
We belong to the United Reformed Church in the United Kingdom.
United:
by our belief in one God
by the goal of Christian unity,
and by our desire to share God's love with the wider world.
Reformed:
because we belong to the worldwide family of Reformed churches, who believe that the good news of Jesus Christ found in the scriptures is alive for God's people today through the help of the Holy Spirit.
Luther and Calvin were "Reformers" centuries ago.
A generation ago our church was "re-formed" to bring together Christians (Presbyterians, Congregationalists and Churches of Christ).
We seek to be reformers today, seeking to express faith in word and action.
Church:
means for us the people
who are built together on the foundation of our living Lord Jesus Christ.
We are glad of our links with other churches:
We are active members of Churches Together in St Albans and in Marshalswick, bringing together the main churches in prayer and action.
and we welcome you to link with us:
Please feel welcome to come along to any of our services.
Other meetings are listed below and on our service leaflets.
If you want to make a closer link with us, please start by leaving your name and address in our visitor's book, and speak to our Minister or one of the Elders, who will do their best to answer any of your questions.
The Minister's name is Paul Dean and his phone number is St Albans 859420, and if you wish, he or an Elder would be glad to visit you. You can make contact by e-mail via David Martin at 101720.1746@compuserve.com
If one of your family is housebound, please ask for them to be visited too, or for Holy Communion to be brought to them at home.
Above all, we are glad to welcome you in Jesus' name!
