The Council delivers Council Tax Reduction and Housing Benefit
From the 15 July 2013 the benefit cap was introduced which limits the amount of benefit households can receive. The benefit cap was reduced further from November 2016.

There are now changes to how housing benefit for social housing is calculated for people who have one or more "spare" bedrooms.
