Asbestos in Council Houses

St Albans City and District Council is aware that some Council properties contain asbestos. Any contractors will be made aware so they take the necessary precautions when working in the area.

If you suspect that you have asbestos in your home:

• Don't panic, it is usually only a problem if it is disturbed 

• Don't drill, saw or disturb materials that contain asbestos

• Do seek advice if you think you have a problem in your home by contacting Housing Services on 01727 819256

• Do treat Asbestos with respect
