Allotments are valuable green spaces and community assets that can help improve people's quality of life by promoting healthy food, exercise and community interaction.

Sandridge Road Allotment Site (5)The Council recognises the unique role of allotments as places which bring all sections of the community together.

They provide opportunities for people to grow their own produce and to meet new friends. Public interest in allotments has undergone a recent revival and this has created a greater demand for plots in St Albans.

St Albans City and District Council operate 10 allotment sites in St Albans and 1 in Park Street.

All of the Allotment sites currently have a waiting list. If you would like to be added to a waiting list, please fill in the online Application Form or call us on 01727 819329.

Due to extremely high demand, only residents of St Albans and Park Street can be added to the waiting list, and you can only join the list for ONE of the sites.

Allotment associations and tenant groups

Taking on, and running an allotment plot may seem a daunting task, but, on many of our sites the more experienced plot holders are very willing to lend a helping hand and offer useful advice.
