St Albans Town Hall is one of the city's landmarks. Grade II listed and situated alongside the Market Place, it is at the centre of the city. Built in 1831, the venue presents an impressive Palladian façade, painted cream and decorated with a columned first storey balcony. The building has recently been refurbished throughout to a very high standard and is open as a multi-purpose events and arts centre.

The space includes the magnificent Regency Room (formerly Assembly Room) and Ryder Room (formerly Mayors Parlour). The highly versatile space will be available for exhibitions, recitals, cabaret, jazz, dance, music, poetry, comedy and theatre shows. A constantly changing programme of visual arts will also be on show.

The Regency Room - 18.4m x 9.1m

This elegant room is large and airy, with double height ceiling and many attractive Regency features. The floor-to-ceiling windows on three aspects flood the room with natural light. Leading onto an impressive balcony area ideal for stunning photographs. This room can seat 120 at a combination of round and banqueting style tables and more in theatre seating, and is ideal as a party or performance venue, or as a larger exhibition or conference space.

The Ryder Room - 6.5m x 5.2m

This room offers smaller accommodation seating 25. It would be ideal as a more intimate gallery, party location or meeting room.

The Town Hall is also a beautiful wedding venue and party venue. Ideal for business meetings and conferences. We hope that you will come and visit the Town Hall soon just to look around, book a function or obtain tickets for an event!

STARTS (St Albans Arts) is a charity formed in 2004 to give the city's creative people a platform from which to publicise and develop their work. STARTS aim is to champion the cultural life of St Albans. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
