St Albans City and District Council working in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council carry out routine grounds maintenance on adopted Highways. 

St Albans City and District Council

You should contact St Albans City and District Council if:

  • There are weeds growing on a highway road or path
  • Grass cutting have been left on the path after the verge was cut
  • A shrub plant or shrub bed growing a highway verge has not been maintained
  • Vegetation growing on a highway is obstructing a road, junction or path
  • A hedge has not been cut (not applicable if growing on private property)

  • The grass verge is damaged
  • There is a problem with a tree on a grass verge or adjacent to a adapted Highway
  • There are a pothole in the road
  • There is a trip hazard on the path 
  • You want to find out if a road is adopted
  • A streetlight is not working
  • You have an enquiry about at Right of Way
  • Vegetation from a private property is obstructing the highway road or path
