Welcome to the Sports Funding, Information and Advice section. This area is designed to signpost you to external funding opportunities clubs, charities and organisations may wish to apply for when planning and developing new sport and physical activity projects.

Sport England have a number of different Funding Opportunities available, including: 

Sport England Small Grants Programme is currently accepting applications. It has been set up to support local community sport projects which see to increase participation, sustain participation or develop oportunities for people to excel at their chosen sport.

Sportsmatch will re-open for new application 17th January 2011. It is adviseable to look in the New Year as current funding guidance will be updated.

Iconinc Facilities fund draws on the inspirational pull of London 2012 to create local beacons for grassroots sport. Sports England will be investing £30m over the next 3 years into innovative, large scale, multi-sport facilities projects that are regionally significant fo at least 2 sports and can demonstrate long term financial viability.

Themed Rounds are competitive targeted Natioanl Lottery investment programmes that address specific challenges to community sport and opportunities to increase participation.

 Active St Albans The Active St Albans Get Back Into and Sportivate programmes are for local clubs to apply for. Clubs or organisations who are interested in delveloping and delivering a project to either get more adults participating in their sport or specifically targeting 14-25 year olds may be able to get a small grant from Active St Albans.
 Awards for All logo Awards for All is a small grants scheme which aims to help improve local communities and the lives of people who are most in need.

The Community Services Team are committed to supporting local clubs, groups and organisations in seeking funding and as a result have developed a funding matrix. This funding matrix is updated and checked every 2 weeks to ensure that the information provided is current. Although we endeavour to ensure that this information is correct all funding opportunities are from external organisations and we highly recommend contacting them directly for more information, prior to completing any applications.
