Would you like help or advice about claiming Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit?

If you can't come and see us at our offices, we can visit you in your own home.

Our visiting officers can work out your Housing Benefit or Council Tax benefit (or both) and offer advice on other state benefits such as Pension Credit,Working Tax Credit and Disability Living Allowance.

Whether you need help with your first claim or with a review form, a visiting officer can help you.

Claiming benefit that you are entitled to is your right. However,we are aware that some elderly members of our community feel embarrassed asking for help, or have difficulty filling in forms. Home visits can often help in these situations. So please complete the form above, and send it to us, e-mail us or phone us at our offices.

Did you know that if you would like to make a claim for benefit, or have to provide original documents to support a claim, you can take them to Harpenden Town Council (Mon - Fri 10am - 4pm). They will photocopy your documents for you and forward them to the Benefits Section at St Albans District Council. Their contact details are:
