About Us
The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 places a statutory duty on public agencies to work together to prevent and reduce crime and disorder and anti-social behaviour. Therefore, in every area throughout the country these public agencies have formed partnerships.
In St Albans this is called the St Albans Community Safety Partnership, also know as the Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP) and our partners include Hertfordshire Constabulary, Hertfordshire County Council, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Hertfordshire Police Authority, St Albans & Harpenden Primary Care Trust, Youth Offending Team, Hertfordshire Probation Area and various local voluntary organisations.
Our Priorities
St Albans Community Safety Strategy 2005-08 came into force in April 2005 and lists the priorities the partnership would be concentrating its efforts on for the next three years. The strategy and priorities are based on outcome of the Crime & Disorder Audit of the District undertaken in November 2004 and also the national priorities highlighted by the Home Office. Please click here to access the Community Safety Strategy 2005-08
The main priorities are:-
- Reduce Crime
- Reducing Vehicle Crime
- Reducing Burglary
- Tackle Domestic Violence & Hate Crime
- Tackle Crimes of Local Concern
- Reduce Anti-social Behaviour and Alcohol Related Crime
- Reduce Harm caused to Communities by Drugs.
- To Build Community Confidence.
