  Benefits & Council Tax

  * Appeals

If you find any errors on your Council Tax bill you should let the council know. If you consider the bill is incorrect you can make a written appeal to the council giving reasons. You will be notified of the decision and if your appeal is not upheld you will be told how to make a further appeal to an independent tribunal. Making an appeal does not allow you to withhold payment of tax owing.
Appeals about banding are not the responsibility of the council and need to be sent to:

The Listing Officer, St Albans Group Valuation Office, St Peter's House, 45 Victoria Street, St Albans, Herts AL1 3UG.
Tel: 01727 774700, Fax 01727 774798
