  Benefits & Council Tax

  * Council Tax Benefit

If you are on low income and you and your partner have combined savings of less than £16,000 you may be able to get a reduction through Council Tax Benefit.

If you have previously received Council Tax Benefit please check your bill to make sure benefit has been allowed. Remember to notify the council of any changes in your circumstances.

The amount of benefit you could receive depends on individual circumstances such as the amount of money you have coming in each week, your age or how many children you have. If your income is too high you may be able to claim a second adult rebate if there is another person, other than a partner or lodger, living with you who is on a low income.

To find out if you are entitled to Council Tax Benefit, you can get an Application Form by contacting the Benefits Section. Full details are available by clicking on the link to the left.

If you have any queries or need help to fill in your benefit form
please phone 01727 819460 and ask for the Benefits Section.
