Pharmacy Opening Hours - Bank Holidays

Details of the pharmacies in the St Albans District and their regular opening hours are available from NHS Direct, telephone 0845 4647 or on the NHS website

Pharmacies are NOT required to open on public holidays, e.g. Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and other bank holidays. However there is a local scheme whereby a small number of pharmacies agree to open on these days - please see the list below.

Patients needing urgent medical care out of hours, are prescribed medicines by the out of hours doctor service, and will be supplied with appropriate medication if there is no pharmacy open to dispense NHS prescriptions.

Bank Holiday opening times for pharmacies in St Albans and Harpenden PCT for Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Easter Sunday will continue to be publicised in local papers.
