Last summer St Albans District Council invited the Hertfordshire based Green Heart Project Group to seek the views of users and non-users of Clarence Park, with regard to the things that attracted them to the park - and the areas for improvement that would increase their enjoyment during their visits. The project has identified some new ideas for improvements.
One of these ideas is to improve the appearance of a quiet area of the park, situated in the triangle of land between York Road, the football ground and the contractors depot. The Council has engaged Groundwork Hertfordshire to work with local schools and Community Groups, to design a new sensory garden to fit into this space.
The attached plan represents a work in progress, and the Council is seeking public comment before finalising the plan. The project has attracted some additional funding from the Council, and this has been matched by outside grant funding through Groundwork. This will allow a start to be made in March 2008.
