Quality local services and
a pleasant, safe environment are all scoring high marks with
residents in St Albans City and District. Significantly more
people are satisfied with the services provided by St Albans
District Council than four years ago, according to the findings
of a new MORI poll.
Seven out of ten residents, 71% say they are satisfied with
council services, an improvement of eight per cent on the
same question asked four years ago. The findings take St Albans
to the top of MORI's own table of district councils, bucking
a nation wide trend of falling satisfaction rates with council
services.
Ninety-four per cent of residents say they are satisfied
with St Albans district as a place to live. The score places
the city and district top of MORI's performance table on this
issue.
Commissioned by St Albans District Council, survey findings
are based on a representative sample of 1004 interviews with
residents aged 16 plus across district. All residents interviewed
have agreed to become a member of the St Albans Community
Panel, which will help the council in future consultation
exercises.
