Under the new planning legislation, the Council is required to produce a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).
This Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) includes information on how and when members of the public can get involved in all aspects of planning, whether it is commenting on individual applications or being part of policy formation.
The document has now been sent out for consultation across the District and anyone is welcome to make comments on the SCI.

Copies of the document are also available free of charge from the main Council offices in St.Peters Street, the Town Council office in Harpenden and to inspect at all of the district’s libraries.
A report summarising the responses to the SCI will be considered by the Council’s Planning Policy Advisory Panel in the summer. A final version will be approved by the Cabinet and then submitted to the Secretary of State for Independent Examination.
