Parking for the St Albans Christmas Light Switch On and Christmas Market Launch

From 07:00 to 21:00 on Sunday 26 November 2017

The following roads will be closed and parking will be suspended

St Peters Street from its junction with Victora Street to its junction with Hatfield Road and Catherine Street; and
Victoria Street from its junction with Bricket Road to its junction with Chequer Street and St Peters Street; and
Chequer Street from its junction with London Road/Holywell Hill and St Peter’s Street
High Street from its junction with London Road/Holywell Hill and George Street
Market Place from its junction with Spencer Street to its junction with High Street
Civic Close from Bricket Road

No through access will be possible in these roads; The diversion routes will be signed on the streets affected.

Before you Renew your permit on line you will need to have your applicant ID number and your permit ID number ready. You will find this on the letter attached to your permit or on your permit renewal letter. If you have misplaced any of these or you don’t know your ID you can contact our team at: stalbansparking@nsl.co.uk. If you prefer to speak to someone in person please call:

How will you receive your permit:

It can take up to 4 working days for your permit to be processed and sent through the post (first class). Permits are posted to the address where the permit is valid. However, if you prefer to collect your permit please email your collection request to stalbansparking@nsl.co.uk collection is usually available after 2 days of your application and will be available at the Drovers Way Car Park NCP information window next to Shop Mobility. The collection window is open during normal office hours only.

To allow for the application process we allow a 14 day grace period from the date of expiry of residents permits (not including temporary or visitors permits)

If you prefer to pay by cheque, need to have 2 vehicle registration numbers, are applying for a carer permit or any permit not listed on the online application

Works Permits

Where residents or businesses employ contractors or trades people to carry out work at their home or business and there are no off-street parking facilities available, the contractor or trades person may need to park on the road during the controlled hours. St Albans District Council have considered this and offer a works permit which would cover the vehicle for as long as required at a cost of ÂŁ5.30 per day.

Click apply online at the top of this page and complete the online application After submitting address details you must then select the permit type from the drop down list, you will need to complete the rest of the form. On completion the permit will be posted to the address where the permit is required. 
Please note that we require at least 5 working days to process the online application (not including Saturday & Sunday). Please allow an additional 3 working days for delivery.
