St Albans City Centre is well connected on the local bus network with services from North London, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Luton and Watford, as well as routes to the city’s suburbs and outlying shopping areas.
A pocket size map of the bus network has been produced by the Network St Albans partnership and is available from the Tourist Information Centre (closed Sunday), libraries or the District Offices (closed weekends).

Hertfordshire County Council - Most buses in Hertfordshire are run commercially by bus companies. Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) subsidises some services to fill gaps in the commercial network.

St Albans is just 20 minutes away from London’s St Pancras International Station on the Thameslink train line. This line also connects to a variety of other London stations such as West Hampstead (London Overground and Jubilee Line); Kentish Town (northern line) and Farringdon (Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith and City lines). St Albans also connects to Gatwick airport (1 hour 15 mins) and Brighton (2 hours) in the south and London Luton Airport and Bedford to the north.
In addition to the main rail station, St Albans is also served by the Abbey Line, which connects St Albans to Watford.
