Toddlers Splash Park

The Splash Park is made up of approximately 12 high and low water features inserted into the surface and surrounded by a perimeter fence, to provide a safe and fun activity for children 12 years and under. All children under 8 years old should be accompanied by an adult and all users require parent/guardian supervision.

Ice cream and cold drinks are available at the Splash Park for your convenience.

For everyone's enjoyment, we do ask that all children under 3 years old wear swimming nappies and all users are required to wear swimming garments. The facility is cleaned and maintained during opening hours, with water tests being taken every 2 hours.

Toilet facilities can be found within Verulamium Park and also at the Inn on the Park cafe located adjacent to the Splash Park.

The nearest public car park is Verulamium Museum Car Park, St Michael's Street, St Albans AL3 4SW, from this car park the Splash Park is located on the left hand side as you enter the Park.

Splash Park – Why is water constantly spraying out of the jets

The facility is open daily from 10am to 6pm, May to September even when it's raining. The recirculated water is filtered and treated with chlorine to ensure that it is clean and safe. The water flow is automated to ensure that the outlets are flushed and the water treated in accordance with pool health and safety recommendations and guidance. We cannot therefore simply turn the system off when it is not in use as this would compromise the filtration process that keeps the water clean and safe.

At the end of each season the system is turned off, the water is drained, and the water jets removed for the winter. The Splash Park is then re-commissioned in April in preparation for its opening in May.
