Community transport

Printer-friendly page
Community Transport (CT) is not the same as public transport and takes various forms (including car, van and mini-bus); often CT will take users from door to door.

The schemes in the district predominantly offer transport for those local people who have difficulties accessing public transport. CT provides safe, accessible and affordable transport to these local people allowing them to attend health appointments, visit the shops or access social activities.

Schemes are normally based in local areas however some schemes are available to all residents across the District no matter where they live.

In addition, some of the CT schemes offer transport in wheelchair accessible vehicles, along with the hire of such vehicles.

The following schemes are available –
