Please be advised that making an application for a permit does not mean you are guaranteed to be accepted for one. Once we have checked your eligibility we will then advise you whether or not a permit will be issued to you. Any refused applications will be fully refunded.

Before you Renew your permit on line you will need to have your applicant ID number and your permit ID number ready. You will find this on the letter attached to your permit or on your permit renewal letter. If you have misplaced any of these or you don’t know your ID you can contact our team at:

(An ID number is not required for new permits, when prompted for your ID number please select 'No' from the options and then click next).

How will you receive your permit:

It can take up to 4 working days for your permit to be processed and sent through the post (first class). Permits are posted to the address where the permit is valid. However, if you prefer to collect your permit please email your collection request to collection is usually available after 2 working days of your application and will be available at the Drovers Way Car Park information window next to Shop Mobility. The collection window is open during normal office hours only.

To allow for the application process we allow a 14 day grace period from the date of expiry of residents permits (not including temporary or visitors permits)

Eligible Properties List

The below PDF's contain the lists of properties eligible for permits, the zone and number of permits applicable - please note that the PDF lists below are working lists and are provided for guidance only. The list may change and eligibility for permits is not guaranteed. 

These documents are intended as guidance and should not be relied upon to parking in contravention to the Traffic Management Act 2004, drivers are required to check all signage on street for the restrictions in place.  

Where you can park in your zone

Please note that the lists below contain estimated space numbers and include where parking bays are lined across a driveway or other access. The lists are provided for guidance only. Drivers are required to check road markings and signage to ensure their vehicle is parked in accordance with the parking restrictions in place on street.

Works Permits

Where residents or businesses employ contractors or trades people to carry out work at their home or business and there are no off-street parking facilities available, the contractor or trades person may need to park on the road during the controlled hours. St Albans District Council have considered this and offer a works permit which would cover the vehicle for as long as required at a cost of £5.30 per day.

Click apply online at the top of this page and complete the online application After submitting address details you must then select the permit type from the drop down list, you will need to complete the rest of the form. On completion the permit will be posted to the address where the permit is required. 
Please note that we require at least 5 working days to process the online application (not including Saturday & Sunday). Please allow an additional 3 working days for delivery.
