Grants

St Albans City and District Council (SADC) distributes funding to voluntary and community groups in the form of grants. These grants support the delivery of projects and activities that benefit the local community and meet the council’s priorities.

Community Project Fund Toggle accordion

What is it?

The Community Project Fund is for time-limited projects which meet community needs and help reach the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy priorities.

Who can apply?

Voluntary and community-sector organisations, social enterprise organisations and community interest companies.

How do I apply?

Organisations are invited to apply throughout the year with decisions made monthly at Grants Panel. Completed applications and supporting documents should be sent to StAlbansGrants@communities1st.org.uk. Applications can be submitted until 5 January 2025. Please note, if you are applying for funds for summer 2024 activities, you must submit your application no later than 17 June for it to be considered for the June Grants Panel. 

How much is available?

Grants of between £200 and £2,000 will be awarded.

Community Revenue Fund Toggle accordion

What is it?

A fund aimed at organisations with a track record of delivery of services in the District in need of funds to cover general running costs to continue their usual activities.

Who can apply?

Voluntary and community-sector organisations, social enterprise organisations and community interest companies who are already established in the District.

How do I apply?

Completed applications and supporting documents should be sent to vcsgrants@stalbans.gov.uk. Deadline for applications is Monday 17 June 2024 at 9am.

How much is available?

Organisations may apply for one-off grants of up to £4999.99.

Partnership with Communities 1st

The Council part-funds Communities 1st to assist with providing information and guidance concerning a wide range of grant funding available to local voluntary and community groups (not grants for individuals). Communities 1st is a Membership organisation, details of membership and the types of funding advice available can be found on their website http://www.communities1st.org.uk
