Electric Vehicle charging points
Electric Vehicle Chargers
The Council is receiving a lot of enquiries at the moment from residents wanting an Electric Vehicle charger installed in their street.
The Council is not the Highway Authority, and has no powers to do so. The roads and footpaths across Hertfordshire are the responsibility of Hertfordshire County Council.
Hertfordshire County Council is in the process of considering whether or not to allow Electric Vehicle chargers to be installed in streets across Hertfordshire.
St Albans City & District Council does not agree with the County Council’s Highways & Transport Cabinet Panel’s endorsement of their draft Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Strategy.
Residents may wish to talk directly to Hertfordshire County Council about this matter, or apply for an Electric Vehicle charger to be installed on their street.
Such enquiries should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
