Careers fair

A careers fair is being staged to showcase the fabulous opportunities available in the professional services sector in St Albans.

School pupils and their parents are welcome at the event which will feature around 20 local employers.

The fair is being organised by the St Albans City of Expertise, a group of professional service firms brought together by St Albans City and District Council.

It is being held on Wednesday 1 November from 6pm to 7.30pm at Barclays Bank, St Peter’s Street.

Among the City of Expertise members taking part are Barclays, chartered surveyors Rumball Sedgwick, chartered engineers AECOM and accountants Rayner Essex, WMT and Kingston Smith

Law firms Neves and Rayden Solicitors will also be there to provide career information and advice.

Ian Taylor ACIB, Regional Director (Hertfordshire and North West London) of Barclays Business Banking, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the City of Expertise with its careers event.

“I urge young people to come along to meet many of the firms that operate in St Albans and learn how they can help you. “

Councillor Beric Read, Chair of the City of Expertise, said: “St Albans has become renowned as a City where professional service firms can flourish.

“This careers fair is a great chance for school pupils to find out all they could possibly want to know about the excellent jobs and career pathways that exist on their doorstep.”
