Publication date:

Talented chefs will show off their skills cooking a delicious taster vegetarian menu at the Mayor’s Ready Steady St Albans charity fundraising event on Wednesday October 4.

The team from Dylans Kings Arms, in George Street, will be making a starter of wild mushrooms, soft quail’s egg, grilled sour dough with rapeseed hollandaise.

They will be followed Harry Lumsdon, crowned Young Masterchef of Britain in 2016, who is Head Chef at The Great Northern in London Road. Harry is cooking a main course of Vacherin tortellini with caramelized onion broth.

Whipping up a delicious dessert will be Paul Wood, one of the chef tutors in Hospitality and Catering at Oaklands College, along with some of his students. They will be creating a trio of desserts. This includes: mango and lime mousse with a tuille biscuit; mini carrot cake, with a butter scotch sauce and chocolate decadence, with honey combe and crème fraiche. The team is also producing a selection of petit fours.
