Mayor and Deputy Mayor join the St Albans Park Run

Publication date:

The Mayor of St Albans City and District, Councillor Anthony Rowlands, has enjoyed his first public engagement since his election to the historic post.

Mayor Rowlands joined the 529th  St Albans Park Run held at Verulamium Park on Saturday 27 May.

An experienced runner, he was joined by the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Josie Madoc, and they were among the 475 people to complete the 5km course.

The weekly event caters for people of all ages and abilities and so echoes the theme of the Mayor’s civic year, All Ages Together.

The park run is open to all, organised by volunteers and free with people simply asked to register before taking part.

Mayor Rowlands said:

I am immensely proud to have supported such an outstanding community event to get my term of office underway.

It was great to see so many participants from across the generations enjoying this opportunity for physical exercise in a splendid setting.
