Mayor's Carol Concert open to all

Publication date:

St Albans Mayor Councillor Rosemary Farmer is hosting an annual Christmas Carol Concert for charity – with everyone welcome to attend.

The popular open-air event is to be held on Sunday 9 December and will raise funds for Rennie Grove Hospice Care.

It starts at 4pm and takes place beside one of the City’s most famous landmarks, the 15th Century Clock Tower in the High Street. St Peter’s Church choir will be performing, accompanied by St Albans City Band.

Cllr Farmer, Mayor of St Albans City and District, said:

I am very proud to be hosting this fabulous concert that will get people in a joyous mood for the festive season.

It is open to all and I urge people to come along and sing their heart out. During the service, there will be a collection for Rennie Grove.

We will also pause for a minute or two to remember loved ones who are unable to be with us due to illness or who have passed away.

Clergy from around the District will be in attendance including the Rev. Mark Dearnley from St Peter’s Church and the Mayor’s Chaplain, the Rev. Canon Dr Dennis Stamps.

Everyone taking part will be invited afterwards to enjoy refreshments from a fund-raising stall outside The Boot pub.

Rennie Grove Hospice Care provides care and support for patients in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. For more information, see: www.renniegrove.org.
