How you can help
The Hertfordshire Strategic Migration Steering Group has considered how local councils can best direct people who wish to support Ukraine migrants.
Financial donations to organisations that have a presence in our area are very welcome. It would be helpful if people do not donate goods. This is because collecting supplies can be a complex and time consuming. Transporting those goods hundreds of miles is also very costly and slow in comparison to the more immediate impact that financial donations can have on those in need.
Therefore, the focus is on financial donations to:

- The UNHCR refugee agency –Donate to UK for UNHCR
- UNICEF - Donate online - Unicef UK
- The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain - Help Ukraine Emergency Appeal
- Save the Children - Ukraine Appeal | Donate | Save the Children UK

DLUHC 'Home for Ukraine' scheme
The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities has provided some information about the launch of their ‘Homes for Ukraine’ initiative.
UK individuals, charities, community groups and businesses can record their interest in supporting Ukrainians fleeing the war by registering on the Homes for Ukraine website.
