Visitors to the Christmas Market in St Albans injected almost £1 million into the rest of the local economy, a study has revealed.
St Albans Christmas Market is returning for the fifth year in a row and has been extended by four days to meet rising popular demand.
St Albans Christmas Market is being extended due to popular demand and will run for four weeks right up until 23 December - the Saturday before Christmas.
The performance of the St Albans Christmas Market came under the spotlight in a review by councillors from St Albans City and District Council last Thursday (2 March).
St Albans Mayor officially opened St Albans’ Christmas market in the Vintry Garden on Thursday 26 November supported by an enthusiastic crowd of over 2,000 people.
