We are looking to fill several posts in our dynamic and supportive Finance Team. We value individuals who want to drive change whilst safeguarding our organisation and are passionate about financial sustainability in the public sector. 

In the Finance Team you will: 

• drive economic growth with an ethos of continuous improvement and a drive for value for money.  
• promote financial resilience, by making well-informed recommendations and insightfully identifying risks. 
• support the day-to-day functioning of our organisation by working closely with officers across the Council to make effective financial decisions. 
• make a real difference by helping our organisation to drive financial excellence, maintain exceptional regulatory compliance and enhance financial sustainability across the Council. 

Have you got what it takes?

In a fast-paced Local Authority, we need finance officers with energy, a proactive mindset and motivation to drive standards and support successful change. 

You will need to: 

• identify and develop innovative financial solutions, constructively challenging the organisation to help achieve its goals. 
• provide effective advice on financial risks and support manager and service leads to deliver balanced, functional budgets. 
• work effectively with a wide range of senior stakeholders on diverse projects across the Council, providing strategic insight, underpinned by a strong understanding of financial management.
• communicate complex financial information to officers who do not come from a finance background.
