New Parking Restrictions

Request a new parking restriction

If your road or area is not currently listed in the works programme, you can request that it be considered for a future parking consultation.

We welcome suggestions from residents where parking issues are affecting safety, access, or quality of life. All requests will be reviewed and may be added to the waiting list for future consideration, based on factors such as:

  • โš ๏ธ Safety concerns
  • ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ Volume of requests from multiple households
  • ๐Ÿš— High demand from non-residents
  • ๐Ÿ—๏ธ Nearby developments impacting parking

To submit a request or review existing parking restrictions, please click the enquiry form below:

Yellow Line Orders

We process one Yellow Line Order each year. The request window opens 1st April and remains open for 10 weeks.

Process:

  • Request Submission: All yellow line requests received during the window are added to a waiting list.
  • Review & Data Collection: Each request is assessed, including site surveys and relevant data.
  • Councillor Review: Valid proposals are submitted to the Lead Councillor for approval.
  • Public Consultation: Residents are invited to share feedback.
  • Decision & Implementation: If approved, a formal Traffic Regulation Order is made and the yellow lines are installed.

Parking Schemes

Requests for parking schemesโ€”such as resident-only parkingโ€”are reviewed once per year.

Process:

  • Initial Investigation: Includes site visits and surveys to assess the issue.
  • Informal Consultation: May be held to gather local views.
  • Workplan Review: If justified, the scheme is added to the waiting list for Lead Councillor review.
  • Approval & Scheduling: Approved schemes are scheduled for the following financial year.
  • Public Consultation: Community feedback is gathered before final decisions.
  • Implementation: A formal Traffic Regulation Order is made and relevant signage and markings are installed.

Works Programme 2025 - 2026

A new works programme covering the 2025โ€“2026 period was considered in April 2024. While not every request can be actioned immediately, several factors may lead to inclusion in future programmes:

  • โš ๏ธ Safety concerns
  • ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ Volume of requests from multiple households
  • ๐Ÿš— High parking demand from non-residents
  • ๐Ÿ—๏ธ Major nearby developments
